UW-Whitewater women remain in first
STEVENS POINT UW-Whitewater's women's basketball team won a battle of nationally-ranked teams Wednesday night.
Courtney Kumerow had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead the 16th-ranked Warhawks to a 58-55 win over 12th-ranked UW-Stevens Point in a WIAC game.
Whitewater (7-2, 4-0) made six free throws in the last minute of play to preserve the win.
Myranda Tyler had a game-high 17 points for Stevens Point (5-3, 1-2), which missed eight of 12 free throws.
