Evansville, Clinton girls earn victories

Sophomore guard Brielle Greenleaf scored 26 points to lead Evansville to a 70-50 nonconference girls basketball victory over visiting New Glarus on Monday night.

Greenleaf hit six three-pointers en route to her game-high total. Senior Kayla Klitzman added 14 points for the Blue Devils, who went to 1-3.

Lexie Hanson led the Glarner Knights with 16 points.

EVANSVILLE 70, NEW GLARUS 50

New Glarus (50)—Watrud, 2-0-4; Lexi Hanson, 5-3-16; Seller, 1-1-3; Moen, 6-3-15; Gilson, 1-0-2; C. Feller, 3-1-8; Proctor, 1-0-2. Totals: 19-8-50.

Evansville (70)—Larson, 0-2-2; Miller, 2-0-6; Klitzman, 5-4-14; Krueger, 1-0-3; Greenleaf, 8-4-26; Nimz, 1-0-3; Nelson, 3-2-8; Sunness, 1-4-6; Anderson, 1-0-2. Totals: 23-16-70.

Evansville 16 22 17 15—70

Three-point goals—New Glarus 4 (Hanson 3, Feller), Evansville 8 (Greenleaf 6, Krueger, Nimz). Free throws missed—New Glarus 6, Evansville 6. Total fouls—New Glarus 16, Evansville 14.

Junior varsity—New Glarus won.

n Clinton 50, Delavan-Darien 42—Clinton High's girls basketball team got defensive Monday night.

The visiting Cougars held Delavan-Darien to 11 points in the first half en route to a nonconference win.

Mallory Niemann and Megan Lantz scored 16 points each for Clinton, which led 21-11 at half.

Delavan-Darien's Kylie Collins led all scorers with 19.
