— The Peoria Chiefs scored three runs in the top of the 12th inning to defeat the Beloit Snappers, 9-6, Wednesday night in Midwest League baseball.

The Chiefs scored all three runs in the 12th with two outs.

Snappers pitcher Tim Atherton gave up a walk to Dustin Geiger, who went on to score what proved to be the winning run after consecutive singles by Jorge Soler and Timothy Saunders. A wild pitch allowed Soler to score. Saunders later scored on a bases-loaded walk by Corey Williams, who had replaced Atherton. Atherton (1-1) took the loss.

Beloit scored three runs in the first before Peoria rallied for one in the fifth and four in the sixth to go ahead, 5-3.

The Snappers added a run in the sixth, then regained the lead at 6-5 with two runs in the seventh. Peoria tied it at 6-6 with a run in the eighth.
