— Craig High emerged a 1-0 winner Tuesday over visiting Parker High in a hard-fought non-conference boys soccer match.

Odean White scored at 37 minutes off an assist from Dan Swales for the match's lone goal.

"Parker was playing a pretty good offside trap defense," Craig coach Charlie Friedrich said. "Odean dropped behind the defense and got a nice, well-placed shot that (Jonathan Fillion) had no chance on.''

Vikings coach Andy Holmes said White's goal gave momentum to Craig.

"We had a lot of opportunities in the first half," Holmes said. "White's goal was a big momentum shifter. Our midfield was sort of overpowered in the second half.''

Parker got going late in the second half, but could not reach the goal after making several close calls as the time ran out.

"It was a typical intense rivalry Parker-Craig game," Friedrich said. "We had scoring chances and Parker had chances.''

Craig (3-1) hosts Madison West at 7 p.m. Thursday. Parker (2-3) travels to Madison Memorial at 7 p.m. Thursday.
