Snappers win fourth straight
DAVENPORT, IA The Beloit Snappers ran their winning streak to four Wednesday night.
Matt Tomshaw allowed only one unearned run in seven innings, while JaDamion Williams homered to lead Beloit to a 4-1 Midwest League win over the Quad Cities River Bandits.
Beloit built an early 2-0 lead and then rode the arm of Tomshaw to the win. The righthander struck out four and did not walk a batter in improving to 4-2 on the season.
Miguel Sano scored twice for the Snappers, and Williams belted his fourth home run of the season with one out in the top of the first.
Game two of the three-game series is tonight.
