Washington St., was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated, reportedly his fourth offense; knowingly operating while revoked causing injury; violation of a red traffic signal; and operating a motor vehicle without insurance, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.

Wentler was arrested after he failed to stop at a red traffic light on South Jackson Street and crashed into an approaching vehicle at the Delavan Drive intersection. The driver of this vehicle, Tara L. Chapman, 38, of 1103 Mitchell St., Janesville, and two passengers with the same address, Chase L.P. Munns, 12, and Josiah E. Chapman, 6 months, were taken with minor injuries to St. Mary's Janesville Hospital, according to the release and accident report. Their conditions were not available.

When officers arrived on scene and began investigating the crash, they smelled intoxicants on Wentler's breath, according to the release. He failed a field sobriety test.
