Early lead evaporates for Janesville lacrosse squad

— The Janesville Lacrosse Club couldn’t hold an early lead and fell to Mukwonago, 9-5, at Optimist Park on Wednesday night.

Janesville led 2-1 after one quarter, but was outscored 5-1 in the second.

“We got off to our best start of the year, but we didn’t carry that over into the second,” said Janesville coach Andrew Beaumont.

Janesville didn’t help itself with 13 penalties for 11˝ minutes and was outshot 36-25.

Nick Krueger had four goals for Janesville and Eric Monroe had one.

The Janesville JV White defeated the Mukwonago JV, 4-3.

Janesville hosts Waunakee at 5 p.m. Friday at Optimist Park.
