— Junior pitcher Erin Muehlenkamp delivered from the mound and the plate Monday as Janesville Parker defeated Middleton, 5-2, in Big Eight Conference softball.

The Vikings ran their winning streak to four and improved their record to 4-4 in the conference and 4-7 overall.

“(Muehlenkamp) pitched well, and we’re definitely playing solid defense behind her,” Parker coach Jenni Seisser said.

Muehlenkamp gave the Vikings an early lead in her first at-bat, connecting for a two-run home run in the top of the first inning.

Ashley Ross led off with a home run to begin the third inning for the Vikings, who scored two more runs in the fourth.

With two outs in the fourth inning, Kayce Chesebro walked and scored on a double by Andrea Roeber. Ross then drove Roeber in with a single.

Parker plays at home today against Madison East in a Big Eight matchup.
