— Janesville Craig’s boys and girls track and field teams both finished second at Friday night’s Watertown Invitational.

The Cougar girls, thanks to wins in four events, finished with 121 points. Neenah won the 12-team title with 130.5

Craig’s boys, behind wins from Calvin Coleman in the triple jump and long jump, finished second to Middleton.

Coleman, a senior, won the triple jump at 43-1 and the long jump at 21-2. He also anchored Craig’s winning 800 relay team.

“Calvin is so valuable because I can put him in almost any event and he’s going to score points,” Craig boys coach Jeff Deininger said.

“As a team, I thought we did really well. We got wins from both the 400 and 800 relay teams. It was a good night.”

Spencer Hrycay also won the 3,200 for Craig.

The Craig girls got wins from Kaylyn Funk (shot put), Alli Calkins (high jump), Aisha Coleman (triple jump) and Courtney Pohlman (pole vault).

“I was real pleased with how we did tonight, especially in the field events,” Craig girls coach Mark Marsden said. “This was a very tough meet considering how strong the competition was.”
