Rock County

-- DEANGELO D. CARTER, 20, of 1203 Keeler Ave., Beloit, at 1:11 a.m. Wednesday at 500 E. Milwaukee St., Janesville, on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

-- DARREN K. HAYES, 44, of 808 E. Court St., No. 5, Janesville, at 9:33 p.m. Tuesday at home on a charge of substantial battery with intent to cause bodily harm.

-- JACK G. TULS, 69, of 8816 E. Rye Road, Clinton, at 8:32 a.m. Monday at home on a felony charge of issuing worthless checks. He is also accused of failing to pay a fine in Walworth County Court on a charge of operating after revocation.


-- RIVER RESCUE. Janesville firefighters were called at 9:12 p.m. Wednesday to the west side of the Rock River at Union Street in downtown Janesville to assist a middle-aged man who appeared to be intoxicated and had jumped into the river, Fire Department Shift Commander Bill Ruchti said. Firefighters lowered ladders along the river wall and the man climbed out, he said. The man was transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville. The manís name and condition were unavailable.


-- JULIE E. CIEBELL, 53, of 207 Dorow Ave., Edgerton, with fifth-offense intoxicated driving. She is accused of driving while intoxicated on Sunday in Edgerton.

-- AUSTIN S. TEMPLE, 23, Madison, with possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug-trafficking place, possession of a controlled substance without a tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia. A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper followed Templeís car from Interstate 90/39 to Milton Avenue in Janesville after the vehicle was reported as driving erratically. Police seized a small amount of heroin and four bags of marijuana, which weighed about 440 pounds each.

-- NICHOLAS J. BERG, 30, 3879 Clear View Drive, Lake Geneva, with operating while intoxicated.

-- APRIL A. ALFREDSON, 34, of 206 S. Third St., Delavan, with operating while intoxicated causing injury, second offense, and operating while intoxicated, third offense.
