Beloit Snappers split with Cougars

— Adam Pettersen scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning to help the Beloit Snappers split a Midwest League doubleheader with Kane County on Tuesday night at Pohlman Field.

Kane County won game one, 5-2, before Beloit rallied for a 3-2 win in game two.


The Cougars tied the second game at 2-2 with a run in the seventh, but the Snappers pushed a run across on a hit, two walks and a wild pitch.


Clint Dempster (1-1) picked up the win for Beloit in the nightcap despite allowing the game-tying run in the seventh.


The two teams wrap up the three-game series at 11 a.m.
