Boer strikes out nine in Beloit Snappers’ victory

— Madison Boer was dialed in Wednesday afternoon.

The Beloit starting pitcher struck out nine in five innings of work to lead the Snappers to a 3-2 win over Kane County in a Midwest League game.

With the game tied 1-1 in the fifth, Beloit (3-3) scored twice to take the lead for good on Matthew Koch’s RBI double and Adam Bryant’s run-scoring single.

Boer improved to 1-1 on the season with the win. The righthander allowed one run on three hits.

Koch finished 2-for-3 in the game with two runs scored and two RBI.

Beloit begins a four-game series at Clinton (Iowa) tonight.
