— A five-run fifth inning carried the Kane County Cougars to an 8-3 win over the Beloit Snappers on Tuesday afternoon in a Midwest League game.

Beloit (2-3) managed only five hits, including Daniel Ortiz's first home run of the season.


Matthew Summers suffered the loss for Beloit, allowing six runs on six hits in four-plus innings of work.


The two teams wrap up the series at 11 a.m. today.
