Peoria used a four-run third inning to take command and defeat Beloit, 5-2, in the Midwest League opener Thursday night at Telfer Park.

The Snappers fell behind,

5-0, but scored twice in the sixth on a double by Eddie Rosario and a wild pitch.

The Snappers’ bullpen did a good job with five scoreless innings from four different pitchers—Matt Tomshaw, Matt Summers, Nelvin Fuentes, and Bart Carter.

A crowd of 759 braved chilly conditions.

The two teams play again tonight at 6:30.
