What: Pound the Pavement Habitat for Humanity Run/Walk
When: Saturday, May 19, starting at 8 a.m. at. Same-day registration will start at 6:30 a.m.
Where: The Home Depot, 3200 Deerfield Drive, Janesville.
Purpose: To raise money to support the Habitat for Humanity of Rock and Jefferson Counties build in Edgerton that will start soon.
Comments: The walk is to create awareness of those in need of decent, affordable housing in the community, said Colleen Curtis-Trappe, event communications chairwoman.

"Just like building the homes, so many people want to help and will show their united support by participating in the run/walk," she said.

"While one person may not feel like they can make a difference, once you get to an event like this where there are all these people, you thrive and feel like you can do more with support."

Details: T-shirt size guaranteed for those who register by April 30, when registration fees are $30 for the 10K, $25 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 mile.

Registration fees increase May 1 through race day to $35 for the 10K, $30 for the 5K and $30 for the 1 mile.

Make checks payable to Habitat for Humanity and mail to Habitat for Humanity/Pound the Pavement, 320 E. Milwaukee St., Janesville, WI 53545.
