The left heaped scorn on former pollsters Doug Schoen and Pat Caddell when they argued that President Obama could not run on his record and that he would have to "wage the most negative campaign in history to stand any chance.” But the 2012 presidential campaign has proceeded much as the two predicted. Both campaigns have been largely conducted according to their theory.
