Edgerton golfers second at regional

Edgerton High School’s girls golf team took its first step toward a WIAA state tournament berth Wednesday.


The Crimson Tide, behind a 77 from Brooke Ferrell, finished second in the Division 2 regional at the Lancaster Country Club. Madison Edgewood won the team title with a 315 total, followed by Rock Valley Conference champion Edgerton at 376. Darlington/Cuba City and McFarland also advanced to next week’s Wisconsin Dells Sectional.


Edgewood’s Lexi Greytak was medalist with a 2-over par 74, while Ferrell was second.


Cambridge’s Abby Schrader and Amanda Jensen advanced as additional individual qualifiers, along with Lancaster’s Ella Marcue.
