Janesville Parker, Craig volleyball teams swept

Janesville Parker High School lost to Sun Prairie, 3-0, Tuesday in Big Eight volleyball.

The Cardinals defeated the Vikings, 25-11, 25-12, 25-19, dropping Parker to 1-6 in the conference.

“We just did not play well,” Parker coach Dave Lehmann said. “We played the undefeated team in the conference (Verona) pretty good last week and beat them once, but we did not play that well today.’’

Ashley Hartwig had 11 kills for Parker.

Parker plays at Janesville Craig at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Craig (1-6) kept it close in Game One, losing 25-18, but was no match for Middleton in Games 2 and 3.

“We played a little better tonight than we have the last couple of matches, but we were playing a better team, too,” Craig coach Blake Budrow said.
