Additional patrols paid for with grant money might be helping to keep road fatalities down in Rock County.

Rock County Sheriff's Office Captain Jude Maurer says they're targeting times and locations where crashes occur.

Maurer says the extra patrols can keep roads safer by looking for dangerous behaviors behind the wheel.

Sixteen people have died on Rock County roads in ten crashes in the first three-quarters of the year. Twenty-three people died in 2010.

Safety increases as the amount of time spent on the road decreases. So driving faster lessens your time on the road and increases safety.

I just go faster, the car tends to wander less at higher speeds making it easier to control with my knee. :)

Maybe they should address the condition of the roads and save the police work??? I know that when I take my hands off the wheel while texting and eating lunch at the same time and driving with my kneee, the roads are horrible and my car is all over and hard to keep straight.
