Whitewater High survived Evansville’s fourth-quarter rally for a 26-20 victory Friday in Rock Valley North football.


Whitewater improved to 2-2 in the conference and 2-4 overall. Evansville fell to 1-3 and 2-4.


The Whippets held a 13-7 halftime lead on touchdown runs of 5 and 1 yard from Bryan Edwards and Deonti Norris, respectively.


Whitewater added a 1-yard Edwards TD run and a 43-yard touchdown pass from Jack Bullis to Dakota Walters for a 26-7 lead.


Dalton Sendelbach scored on runs of 4 and 2 yards in the fourth quarter for Evansville.


Edwards gained 170 yards on 36 carries. Sendelbach gained 65 yards on 20 carries and score all three Evansville touchdowns.

n Jefferson 38, Edgerton 14—The unbeaten Eagles (6-0, 4-0) scored four touchdowns in the second quarter to hammer the Crimson Tide and stay atop the Rock Valley North.


Nate Keller gained 257 yards on 22 carries and scored Jefferson’s first touchdown in the second quarter on a 96-yard touchdown run. That came after had Edgerton had grabbed a 7-0 lead on Collin Gregory’s 44-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Oren.


Keller’s touchdown tied the game at 7-7. Zeke Emerick, who gained 114 yards on 14 carries, added a 10-yard TD run 14 seconds later after Jefferson recovered a fumbled kickoff.

n East Troy 40, McFarland 7—East Troy (5-1, 3-1) rushed for 336 yards as it rolled over the host Spartans to stay a game behind Jefferson in the Rock Valley North.


East Troy’s D.J. Sweet rushed 30 times for 222 yards and three touchdowns.


Teammate Myles Olsen added two touchdown passes to Sam Eckert.


Antwan Washington scored the only touchdown for McFarland on a pass from Nik Ewelt.

n Big Foot 68, Turner 20—Kenneth Walker scored four touchdowns in the first half leading the Chiefs to a 61-6 halftime lead at Beloit.


The victory was Big Foot’s 33rd straight in the Rock Valley—one short of the conference record that is shared by Turner and Brodhead/Juda. The Chiefs, No. 2 in the AP state ratings for medium-sized schools, stayed atop the conference’s South Division at 4-0 and went to 6-0 overall.


Walker rushed for touchdowns covering 44 and 27 yards, returned a punt for a 48-yard touchdown and caught a 28-yard pass for another touchdown. He finished with 132 yards rushing on three carries and caught two passes for 32 yards.


Big Foot led 61-0 before Isaiah Peguero returned a kickoff 99 yards for the Trojans’ first score.


Peguero also scored on runs of 29 and 66 yards and accounted for a school-record 456 total yards. He returned nine kickoffs for 302 yards, rushed for 148 yards on 22 carries and returned a punt for six yards.

n Brodhead/Juda 63, Clinton 27—The Cardinals rolled for 399 yards on the ground to rip the Cougars.


Jesse DeLorme rushed for 122 yards on 15 carries and posted touchdown runs of 13 and 2 yards. Cards quarterback David Earleywine completed five of six passes for 88 yards and 16-yard touchdown pass to Levi Frost.


The victory lifted Brodhead/Juda to 3-1 in the Rock South and 4-2 overall. Clinton fell 0-4 and 0-6.

n Parkview 18, Palmyra-Eagle 12—Elliott Olson returned an interception 33 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to give the Vikings a victory .


The win lifted Parkview into a tie for third-place with Palmyra-Eagle in the Rock South at 2-2. Each is 3-3 overall.


Olson gained 127 yards on 11 carries and returned a kickoff 84 yards for touchdown for the Vikings’ first score.
