Truck versus truck crash injures man
ROCK TOWNSHIP Authorities were investigating a semitrailer truck versus pickup truck crash late Friday at highways 11 and 51 that left a man hospitalized, authorities said.
According to an initial investigation by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, a man was driving a pickup truck west on Highway 11 when he apparently drove through a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 51 and crashed into the semitrailer truck.
The semitrailer was eastbound on Highway 11 and was turning north onto Highway 51. The crash happened shortly after 9:05 p.m. Friday.
Authorities late Friday had not identified anyone involved in the crash.
Sgt. Mark Thompson of the Rock County Sheriff’s Office said the man driving the pickup truck was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, with non-life threatening injuries.
A young boy, who was a passenger in the pickup truck, and the driver of the semitrailer truck, an adult male, were not injured.
Thomspon said it appears alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
