Justin Held scored on a run in the fourth quarter to break 20-20 tie as Delavan-Darien High School football team slipped past Burlington, 26-22, in a Southern Lakes Confefrence game Friday night.

Delavan-Darien recovered a fumble inside its 10 with less than a minute to go and ran three plays before taking a safety as the defending champion Comets improved to 3-1 in the conference.

The Demons drove inside the 30, but the Comets knocked down a Hail Mary on the final play.

The Comets led 13-0.

Statistics for the game were not available at press time.

Union Grove 18, Elkhorn 7—Tate Koester’s 50-yard touchdown run with five minutes to go in the third quarter gave Union Grove the lead for good in a Southern Lakes game at Elkhorn.

Kyle Mountford’s 19-yard touchdown run with 10 minutes left in the third quarter, and Kyle Larson’s extra point put the Elks ahead, 7-6. After a change of possessions, Koester broke loose for his long run.

Koester finished with 163 yards on 19 carries.

Elkhorn was limited to 79 total yards.

Waterford 49, Westosha 14—Greg Steffens scored three rushing touchdowns, and Zach Fischer threw for three other scores as Waterford cruised past visiting Westosha Central and a 3-1 record in the Southern Lakes.

Dustin Schindler caught three passes for 134 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown pass from Fischer.

A 28-point second quarter put the Wolverines ahead 42-7 by halftime. Waterford finished with 312 yards rushing, including 90 yards by Jordan Underly.
