“There are four kinds of people in the world—those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers and those who will need caregivers.”
—Rosalyn Carter

Caregivers are needed for family members of all ages.

With appropriate information and support, family caregivers can help their loved ones life full lives.

That’s why the Rock County Council on Aging and Family Caregiver Support Program will present Relax and Rejuvenate, a conference for caregivers in Beloit on Nov. 10.

Organizers say the conference will celebrate the strength and courage it takes to be a caregiver and provide an uplifting and supportive environment where caregivers will experience laughter, comfort, rest and relaxation.

Three event highlights will be these conference speakers:

Merry Jorgensen—She has worked in the field of aging for more than 25 years and was instrumental in developing Well-Being Ambassadors, a program that helps others improve their mental, physical and spiritual well-being. She has been executive director of aging program and service organizations, was a licensed administrator of an assisted and independent senior living community and was caregiver for her mother.
Becky Suehring—She has been a registered dietitian for nine years and worked for Nutrition and Health Associates since finishing school at UW-Stevens Point in 2002 and her internship at Viterbo University in 2003. Becky’s career focus is on nutrition education in public health.
Mary Pierce—She is humorist and author offering hilarious and positive motivational messages to audiences since 1996. She has been a stockbroker, teacher, radio co-host and corporate trainer. She was caregiver for her 95-year-old mother.
