Intoxicated driving arrests
-- JAMES M. SWENSON, 50, of 621 Harding St., Janesville, at 2:21 a.m. Wednesday. The arrest was listed as Swenson’s fifth on an intoxicated driving charge.
-- REBECCA L. SHAEFER, 25, of 2035 Roosevelt Ave., Beloit, at 12:04 a.m. Sunday at County D and Townline Road in Rock Township. Schaefer also was cited for speeding.
-- MICHAEL J. NEMETZ, 47, of 2241 Shore Drive, Beloit, at 10:23 p.m. Saturday on County M at Highway 213 in Magnolia Township. Nemetz failed to stop while driving southbound on County M. He crossed Highway 213 and drove into a bean field.
-- CRAIG T. NANDORY, 21, of 2741 Harvard Drive, Janesville, at 3:16 a.m. Saturday on Avalon Road east of Interstate 39/90 in La Prairie Township. Nandory also was cited for driving and unregistered vehicle.
-- COUNTY G SOUTH OF SUNNY LANE ROAD at 11:25 a.m., Monday. Melanie L. Wurtz, 30, Lake Mills, was stopped at a stop sign at Blackhawk Technical College before turning into the path of a vehicle driven southbound on County G by Jessica C. Martin, 20, 841 Elm St., Beloit. Both Wurtz and Martin were transported to a local hospital, but no condition reports were available. Wurtz was ticketed for failure to yield. Martin was cited for failing to wear a seat belt.
-- EAST BLACKHAWK DRIVE in Blackhawk Campground in Milton Township. At 5:47 p.m. Sept. 4, Sean Feezel was driving a golf cart toward a hill when a 10-year-old female passenger stood up and fell out of the cart. She was transported to a local hospital, according to police reports, but her condition is not available because she is a minor.
-- COUNTY X AND CARVERS ROCK ROAD in Clinton Township at 11:37 a.m. on Saturday. Steve J. Essen, 57, of 3420 Murray Road, Janesville, was eastbound on County X when a Rottweiler ran into the road. Essen struck the dog and lost control of the motorcycle. He and a passenger, Denise M. Essen, 54, same address, were transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where they were treated and released. The dog’s back was broken, and the dog would likely need to be euthanized, the owner told police.
-- HIGHWAY 81 WEST OF STARR ROAD in Newark Township. At 3:15 a.m. Monday, Kenneth L. Klindt, 43, of Macedonia, Iowa, was driving a semi-tractor trailer west on Highway 81. He was following a pickup driven by James G. Dees, 48, of 1317 Forest Ave., Beloit. As the vehicles crested a hill, Dees slowed at the sight of a school bus with its stop arm extended. Klindt swerved toward the ditch to avoid the pickup and then swerved back to avoid striking a woman waiting at the end of her driveway to meet her grandchildren as they got off the bus. A passenger, Michael W. Dillard, 65, of 2002 Forest Ave., Beloit, was transported to Beloit Memorial Hospital, Beloit, where he was treated and released.
-- FORGERY A 31-year-old Janesville woman on Tuesday reported she got a check in the mail for $5,050 as well as a letter stating she won $600,000. The letter instructed her to deposit the check in order to pay for the taxes associated with the prize. She had gotten similar letters in the past and suspected a scam.
-- BURGLARY reported at 8:26 a.m. Sept. 15 at Schneider Quality Plumbing, 17138 W. Highway 11 in Spring Valley Township. Reported stolen were parts.
-- ANIMAL COMPLAINT reported at 3:18 p.m. Saturday at a residence in the 2800 block of Afton Road, Janesville. Police responded to a complaint of chickens running loose in the yard at the residence. A man at the residence told police that the chickens were there to get rid of ticks. No citations were issued.
-- KYLE N. YOUNG, 17, of 2000 Merrill Ave., Beloit, with robbery by use of force and misdemeanor bail jumping.

-- EWELINA M. GRUCHALA, 22, Lake Geneva, at 8:06 p.m. Saturday at Center Street and Rogers Court, Lake Geneva. She also was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license.
-- KEVIN N. TAYLOR, 19, Whitewater, at 2:18 a.m. Wednesday on West Main Street, Whitewater. He also was cited for operating after suspension and operating without required lamps.
