Taylor Edwards has earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference offensive player of the week honors.

The Janesville Parker High graduate rushed for 240 yards and scored a touchdown in UW-River Falls’ 42-20 loss to No. 22-ranked Trine (Ind.) University on Saturday.

The Falcons’ senior carried 34 times and averaged 7.1 yards a carry. It marked his second highest total of his collegiate career. It was his third 200-plus yard rushing game.

“Taylor’s big game was because our line was moving the pile, and giving Taylor a chance to run,” said first-year Rivers Falls coach Matt Walker. “I have to give credit to the offense on how hard they are playing.”

Edwards scored on a 14-yard run midway through the fourth quarter.

n UW-Whitewater junior defensive back Ronnie Blaszkowski earned WIAC special teams player of the week honors.

Blaszkowski blocked a punt in the second quarter of the No. 1-ranked Warhawks’ 54-14 victory over Campbellsville (Ky.).

-- UW-Whitewater junior Tyler Huber was nominated for the offensive award.

-- UW-Whitewater senior defensive lineman Casey Casper was nominated for the WIAC defensive player of the week.
