Beloit plans to buy land for new production facility

Beloit is making preparation to welcome a new employer to the city. NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes plans to create more than 150 jobs by 2016. Kyle Geissler reports.

— Beloit is making plans to buy 33 acres of land where a medical imaging company will construct a production facility.

Beloit Economic Development Director Andrew Janke says at the next city council next meeting, it will fulfill some of the promises made to NorthStar Medial Radio-isotopes.

The city will purchase the land for no more than $900,000 and sell it to NorthStar for $1.

NorthStar will be investing $194 million into the Beloit facility and plans to create more than 150 jobs by 2016.

NorthStar will begin construction in June 2012 and expects to begin production in 2013.
