— Janesville Craig’s boys soccer team dropped a 3-0 nonconference decision at Mukwonago on Saturday.

Craig High coach Charles Friedrich, however, was pleased with his team’s effort after falling 9-0 to Madison Memorial in its previous game.

“The kids played really well, and this Mukwonago team is really solid,” he said.

Friedrich said Mukwonago (8-4-3) has no sophomores or freshmen in its starting lineup, while the Cougars start five sophomores and one freshman.

“We missed a couple of good shots,” Friedrich added. “We need to learn how to finish better.”

Peter Cooney recorded 14 saves for Craig (3-11-1).

Craig plays Tuesday in a nonconference game at Greenfield.
