Craig, Parker vollyeball earn first Big Eight wins
Janesville Craig got its first Big Eight Conference girls volleyball win of the season by beating visiting Beloit Memorial, 25-11, 25-15, 25-23, Thursday night.
"We played our first complete game," Craig High coach Blake Budrow said. "Everybody did their job. I could say something about every kid."
Amanda Trapp, Kristi Crandall and Maddie Philipps passed well, and Alli Calkins and Regan Sitorius contributed 14 and 9 kills, respectively.
Freshmen Aly Raymond and McKenzie Bertagnoli also stood out as Cougar hitters.
The Cougars, 1-3 in the Big Eight and 11-8 overall, play in the Edgerton Invitational on Saturday.

Parker (1-3) got strong play throughout the lineup, coach Dave Lehmann said.
"This was our best overall match of the season," he said. "As a team, I felt like we made a statement tonight.
"Ashley Hartwig and Claire Gorman had their best overall games of their careers. They were outstanding."
Parker plays in the Delavan-Darien Invitational on Saturday.
