Janesville Jets open with victory

— The Janesville Jets got the 2011-12 NAHL season off to a good start Wednesday.

Jordan Bancroft scored twice, including an early goal at 2:30 of the first period, to lead the Jets to a 2-0 win over the Wenatchee Wild in the first of four games for Janesville at the Showcase Classic Tournament.

Janesville, now in its third season in the NAHL, outshot Wenatchee 22-11. Jets goalie Tony Kujava made 11 saves in registering the shutout.

The Jets will play Kalamazoo at 10 a.m. today.
