Behm qualifies for USGA Mid-Amateur golf championship

Janesville’s Matt Behm qualified for the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship on Sept. 17-22 at Shadow Hawk Golf Club in Richmond, Texas, by finishing fourth at the USGA Mid-Amateur qualifier at North Shore Country Club in Mequon on Sept. 1.

Behm earned the final qualifying spot by winning a three-hole playoff against three other golfers.

Over 200 qualified for the event, with the top 64 advancing to a match play tournament. The winner gets an exemption into the 2012 Masters Tournament at Augusta, Ga.
