Janesville Parker golfers close in on Big Eight regular-season championship
Janesville Parker is on the threshold a dual championship in Big Eight girls golf.
Parker High improved to 7-0 in the conference here Tuesday by beating Sun Prairie, 355-379, at Riverside. With victories over Janesville Craig and Verona today at Tumbledown Trails in Verona, the Vikings can close out an unbeaten conference season.
“We are playing good, solid golf right now,” Parker coach Mary Ross said. “We still have room for improvement, but we are doing well.’’
Parker’s Maggie O’Leary posted an 88, and Taylor Wyss carded an 87 for their lowest of the season. Taylor Utzig and Micayla Richards each shot a 91 for Parker.

The Cougars, who shot 194, defeated Madison West by five shots and Madison East, which forfeited. Middleton shot 177 to defeat Craig, West and East.
Craig (4-3) got a 44 from Ashley Hermanns, a 46 from Hayley Arneson and a 49 from Bailey Green.
“I’m very pleased with our scores today,” Craig coach Dominic Wiegel said. “Our top eight golfers played well today by avoiding any big holes.
“Our conistency is coming around, and we’re looking forward to the conference meet.”
Craig will wrap up the dual meet season today against Janesville Parker and Verona at Tumbledown in Verona.
