Milton High School won five straight matches Saturday en route to the 27th annual Parker Volleyball Invitational championship.

Parker defeated Ofordville Parkview and Kettle Moraine to finish fourth in the six-team field.

“We’re a young team and we played up and down,” Parker coach Dave Lehmann said. “Winning two in this tournament where a lot the teams were close was good.’’

Parker junior Ashley Hartwig posted 13 aces, 60 kills and 20 digs overall.

“Ashley Hartwig had a great day,” Lehmann said. “Her stats deserve a special mention.’’

The Cougars went 4-1 in the invite, losing to the host Elks, 2-0, in the championship match.

Craig defeated Beloit Turner, Lake Geneva Badger, Beloit Memorial and Williams Bay Faith Christian in straight sets.

“This was a good rebound for our team after we didn’t play very well Thursday night in losing to Verona,” Craig coach Blake Budrow said.

“Regan Sitorius and Alli Calkins hit the ball well at the net, and Meghan Hulen did a great job serving and was all over the court defensively.”
