Craig struggles at its soccer invitational

Janesville Craig’s boys soccer team struggled at its quadrangular Saturday.

The Cougars lost twice to finish fourth, while Delavan-Darien won the title with a 2-1 win over DeForest in the championship game.

Craig lost is first game, 2-1, to DeForest, then dropped a 5-1 decision to Green Bay East in the third-place game.

“We kind of rolled over against Green Bay East after losing a tough one to DeForest,” Craig coach Charlie Friedrich said. “We were ahead of DeForest for most of the game until their best player got away from us late for a couple of goals. We had marked him very well up to that point.”

Craig (3-8-1) will play at Madison La Follette in a Big Eight Conference game Tuesday night.
