Danny Supernaw continued to post impressive numbers for Delavan-Darien High School’s football team.

Supernaw threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two others to lead the Comets to a 36-7 victory over Union Grove (0-4, 0-2) in a Southern Lakes game Friday night.

The win boosted Delavan-Darien’s defending champions to 2-0 in the conference and 3-1 overall.

After the Comets’ Alex Limones opened the scoring with a 23-yard field goal, Supernaw scored on touchdown runs covering 27 and 7 yards. He then hit Marcus Hudson with a 52-yard TD pass, and concluded the scoring with a 27-yard pass to Luke Warner in the third quarter.

Justin Held led the Comets in rushing with 113 yards in 11 carries. Supernaw finished with 80 yards on 12 carries as the Delavan-Darien offense amassed 399 total yards.

Supernaw was 7 of 15 for 161 yards and the two touchdowns. Hudson was his favorite target with 110 yards on three receptions.

Delavan-Darien’s Diego Avila had 10 solo and 10 assisted tackles, as Union Grove was held to 202 total yards.

Bennett Kothe rushed for 104 yards as the Panthers improved to 2-0 in the conference and 4-0 overall.

Kyle Mountford scored Elkhorn’s only touchdown on a 19-yard run in the first quarter. He finished with 41 yards rushing and caught a 30-yard pass.
