No suspense this time.

After pulling out a one-point win as time expired at McFarland a year ago, Big Foot High School’s football team never gave the Spartans a chance in their Rock Valley crossover rematch Friday night at Walworth.

The unbeaten Chiefs held a staggering 50-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 57-12 victory in a battle of the conference’s three-time defending division champions.

It was only the third loss in 23 conference games for McFarland since it joined the Rock Valley in 2008. The setback dropped the Spartans to 1-1 in the North and 2-2 overall.

Big Foot, No. 3 in the Associated Press state ratings for medium-sized schools and No. 1 in the coaches’ Division 4 poll, moved to 4-0 for the season with its 31st straight Rock Valley victory. The Chiefs also took over the undisputed South Division lead in their bid for a fifth straight championship—a streak that began before the conference split into divisions.

Kenneth Walker scored four touchdowns in Big Foot’s charge past McFarland. He rushed only six times for 59 yards but finished a 9.8-yard average while scoring on 4, 1 and 20-yard runs, then topped off his night with a 68-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Mason Dixon had 12 carries for 79 yards to lead Big Foot’s balanced 219-yard ground game, while the Chiefs’ defense dominated the Spartans by forcing three fumbles, two interceptions, creating a safety and limiting McFarland to 87 yards rushing.
