Mercy Health System is ready to get to work on its new facility on Deerfield Drive. A public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for June 19th. Kyle Geissler reports.

RSS

— Residents will get a chance to be heard before Mercy Health System can commence work on an emergency room and clinic on Deerfield Dr.

Mercy Vice President Rich Gruber says a public hearing is set for Sept. 19th.

Excavation work has been underway at the site while Mercy waits for approval to start construction.

Gruber says Mercy is still on track to open the facility by the end of the year.

Mercy's new facility is set to open about the same time as St. Mary's Janesville Hospital and Dean Clinic opens further south along I-90.

Well I would hope that there will be a public hearing. I most likely will go to voice my displeasure at having the bike/walk path that goes from behind Movies16/Home Depot to Rotamer shut down so that all of the excavation work can be done. Didn't think the path was on the property that Mercy owned. Very disappointing.
