Janesville Parker doubles team improves to 14-0

— Maddie Theisen and Kristin Zeilinger remained undefeated at No. 1 doubles but Janesville Parker lost, 6-1, Tuesday to Verona in Big Eight Conference girls tennis.

Theisen-Zeilinger improved to 5-0 and 14-0 overall. The Vikings fell to 1-4 in Big Eight duals.

“Verona is probably the best team we’ve played top to bottom,” Parker coach Justin Long said. “We were not able to keep pace.’’

Parker hosts Middleton at 4:15 p.m. today.

Singles—Morgan Wilson (V) def. Becky Harmata, 6-1, 6-0. Kaitlin Hackbart (V) def. Meghann Hoag, 6-2, 6-2. anna Maria Habjir (V) Megan Mitchell, 6-0. 6-1. Marissa Wilson (V) def. Emma Frerich, 6-2, 6-1.

Doubles—Maddie Theisen-Kristin Zeilinger (JP) def. Cari Monroe-Cassidy Schorr, 6-2, 6-3. Sarah Nachreiner-Allison Steyer (V) def. Karissa Haney-Rosalie Sellman, 6-2, 6-2. Stephanie Kerylek-Genna Sticha (V) def. Ashley Lindsey-Elizabeth Severance, 6-2, 6-2.

-- Madison Memorial 7, Craig 0—The Spartans shut out the host Cougars in a Big Eight Conference match.

Craig fell to 3-3 in the Big Eight.

Craig plays at Middleton at 4 p.m. Thursday.
