Fort Atkinson High shook off Jalen Clark’s 63-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to defeat host Stoughton, 24-7, Friday in Badger South football.

Marie Fitzgerald kicked a 22-yard field goal to give unbeaten Fort (3-0) a 3-0 lead, but Clark rumbled 63 yards, and Stoughton held a 7-3 lead. Fort blanked the Vikings (1-2) the rest of the way.

Joey Scott scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter to give Fort the lead for good at 10-7. James Nachtigal caught a 50-yard touchdown pass from Drew Dunkleberger in the third quarter, and Scott added a 5-yard TD run in the fourth quarter to sew up the victory.

Scott gained 86 yards on 20 carries and scored two touchdowns for Fort. Dunkleberger threw for 97 yards, completing eight of 15 passes with one interception.

Quarterback Caleb Choate rushed for 84 yards on six carries, including a 37-yard scoring run, as the Silver Eagles rushed for 264 yards. Choate opened the scoring with a 26-yard scoring pass to Brad Emmerich.

Jack Russell kicked field goals of 46 and 32 yards.

Mount Horeb was held to 63 total yards and five first downs.
