Not guilty plea set in Rock County felony theft case
JANESVILLE A woman accused of stealing nearly $1 million from her Janesville employer stood mute Tuesday to three charges of felony theft.
Heidi J. Wieser, 40, Sauk City, formerly of Roscoe, Ill., appeared in Rock County Court before Judge Kenneth Forbeck, who entered a not guilty plea for her. Forbeck last month set a $7,500 signature bond for Wieser and prohibited her from contacting employees of Rock Valley Trucking or Hufcor.
According to court documents, Wieser from May 2008 until April 2011 made $330,776 in unauthorized credit card charges at businesses including Victoria’s Secret, The Limited, Crimson Ridge Spa in Rockford and Target. She said overpaid herself $665,276, according to court documents. She worked as a bookkeeper at Rock Valley Trucking, a division of Hufcor.
Wieser is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. She faces fines of $25,000 and 10 years of imprisonment for each of the charges.
