— Despite winning all three doubles matches, Janesville Parker’s girls tennis team came up short in a Big Eight Conference match Wednesday.

Madison East swept singles to escape with a 4-3 win in a match that originally started Tuesday, but was pushed back a day due to rain.

Parker’s Maddie Theisen and Kristin Zeilinger improved to 12-0 at No. 1 doubles with a straight set victory, while Ashley Lindsay and Elizabeth Severance are now 9-3 at No.3 doubles.

“Maddie and Kristen continue to roll along,” Parker coach Justin Long said. “And really, all three of our doubles teams are playing really well right now.

“But we’re still young and not quite there yet. Hopefully, our singles play will continue to improve and we’ll start winning the close matches.”

Parker (1-2), which hosts Madison West today, also got a win from the No. 2 doubles team of Karissa Haney and Rosalie Sellman.
