Late goal sinks Badgers

— Alex Hudson scored Nebraska-Omaha’s fourth power-play goal of the game with 21 seconds left to help the Mavericks beat Wisconsin, 5-4, Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Hudson’s third point capped a comeback from three goals down by Nebraska-Omaha (4-3-0, 3-0-0). The Mavericks trailed 3-0 just 5:45 into the game.

Tyler Barnes had two goals for the Badgers (3-4-0, 2-3-0). His power-play goal at 4:05 of the third gave Wisconsin its last lead at 4-3.

Terry Broadhurst’s second goal just 1:44 later tied it, and Hudson broke the tie at 19:39. Broadhurst also had two assists.

Hudson, who chipped in two assists, was alone in front on the net and sent puck past Wisconsin goalie Landon Peterson, who made 34 saves.

Ryan Massa made 18 saves for UNO.

The Mavericks were 4-for-6 on the power play and Wisconsin was 2-for-4.
