— If you’re a farmers market fanatic, you know things start slowing down this time of year.

This weekend, the Janesville and Rock County farmers markets close for the season.

But you can still find goods from local vendors Friday, Nov. 4, as Rotary Botanical Gardens presents its new “Market Mingle” event.

“It’s like any other farmers market but with the comfort of being indoors,’’ said Kelli Cameron, executive director.

Visitors can meet and chat with local farmers, bakers and artisans showcasing their finest products, Cameron said.

If you go, here are three things to look for:

1. Vendor goods. Items expected include tomatoes, peppers, honey, meats, dog treats, catnip toys, handmade jewelry, cheese, soaps, specialty foods, hostas, bird seed wreaths, mittens, books, silk flower arrangements, handmade décor, gourmet and bath teas, encapsulated juices and other vegetables.

2. Food and drink. When you pay $5 admission, you get a drink ticket for a complimentary glass of soda, wine or beer. Other beverages will be available for purchase.

Satisfy heartier appetites with catered Italian beef. Have a sweet tooth? Indulge in baked goods such as mini cakes, cakes, tarts, tartlets, petit fours, dessert sauces and holiday delicacies.

3. Sit and relax. A social sitting area will be provided as music plays on a speaker system. Chair massages also can be purchased.
