Milton city officials are holding on to the possibility of moving city services into a centralized industrial property.

City administrator Jerry Scheutz says the idea of moving into the Burdick building will be examined further in 2012.

The idea was raised when the school district was considering the possibility of buying a building for its offices. The city offered the district the Shaw Municipal Building, but the district decided to purchase a different building.

The Burdick building at Madison Avenue and Plumb Street would house City Hall and the police and fire departments. An industrial tenant is planning to move out.
