Despite losing its Big Eight Conference dual-meet finale, Janesville Craig’s girls swim team had a successful regular season.

The Cougars finished 5-4 in the conference after Tuesday’s 98-72 loss to Madison West.

Alexis Roach won two events for Craig against West. The sophomore won the 200 freestyle 2:05.95 and the 100 backstroke in 1:05.76.

“It was a great meet overall for us,” Craig coach Brian Kitzman said. “We had some phenomonal times, led by Alexis and Kali (Schneider).

“We will start to taper now for the conference meet (Oct. 29), so having our last meet on a Tuesday gives us plenty of time to do that.”

Middleton hosts the Big Eight Conference Meet on Saturday, Oct. 29.
