Craig volleyball splits two matches
Janesville Craig split two nonconference volleyball matches Thursday in preparation for Saturday's Big Eight Conference tournament.
The Cougars rallied to defeat host Delavan-Darien, 17-25, 25-23, 25-22, then lost to Beloit Memorial, 25-21, 25-20.
Craig takes a 15-20 record into the Big Eight meet, which the Cougars host. Play begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, with Verona the prohibitive favorite.
"Maddie Philipps and Morgan Meinders did a super job of serving all night," Craig coach Blake Budrow said. "McKenzie Bertagnoli and Aly Raymond did a good job of hitting tonight."
