— Two Janesville men were arrested on fourth-offense drunken driving charges Sunday after one crashed his motorcycle and after the other talked to deputies at the scene.

The crash on Highway 14 near Fox Road in Center Township was reported at 4:16 p.m. Sunday, according to a Rock County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Deputies found Lawrence Taormino, 35, Janesville, lying in the westbound lane of Highway 14. He was listed in good condition Monday morning at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center.

Taormino was arrested on a charge of fourth-offense drunken driving and cited for reckless driving, driving while suspended, operating without a motorcycle license and driving without insurance, according to the release.

During the crash investigation, deputies talked with Robert L. Furgason, 41, Janesville, who was riding his motorcycle with Taormino at the time of the crash. Deputies reported smelling alcohol on Furgason and arrested him, too, on a charge of fourth-offense drunken driving.

Furgason was booked into Rock County Jail after the incident but no longer was in custody Monday morning, according to a jail spokesman.
