Hitmen hand Janesville Jets first loss

— The visiting Janesville Jets suffered their first loss of the season Sunday, 5-4, in a shootout against the Chicago Hitmen in North American Hockey League play.

The loss dropped Janesville to 8-1.

The Hitmen scored three times in the second period to take a 4-2 lead. The Jets bounced back with a goal from Pijus Rulevicius at 5 minutes, 13 seconds of the third period and Lawrence Childs at 18:22 to tie the game.

Chicago defeated Janesville, 3-2, in the shootout.

On Saturday night, the Jets defeated the Hitmen, 3-2. William Preston scored with 9:19 remaining to lift Janesville to the victory.

It was incorrectly reported that Janesville played Chicago to a 2-2 tie Saturday.
