Edgerton High’s football team still is alive in the battle for WIAA playoff positions.


Peter Linsley ran for three touchdowns, including the winning score on a 50-yard jaunt with 2:34 remaining, to lift Edgerton to 34-28 victory in a Rock Valley Conference crossover game Friday night at Palmyra-Eagle.


The win lifted Edgerton to 3-3 in the Rock Valley North and 4-4 overall. The Crimson Tide must beat Whitewater at home next Friday to earn a postseason berth.


Linsley, who carried 20 times for 102 yards, also scored on runs of 1 and 4 yards.


Edgerton’s Tyler Oren had nine receptions for 138 yards. The Crimson Tide passed for 233 yards.


Palmyra-Eagle’s Brett Knoebel ran 17 times for 160 yards and two touchdowns. Ryan Rapacz added 75 yards on 10 carries, and he scored on a 94-yard kickoff return in the first quarter. Rapacz sat out the second half because of a bruised sternum.


Palmyra-Eagle threatened to score late, but came up four yards short of the goal line as time expired, leaving the Panthers at 2-4 in the Rock Valley South.

n Evansville 57, Clinton 22—Dalton Sendelbach scored three touchdowns and rushed 34 times for a school-record 319 yards as Evansville celebrated its homecoming with a Rock Valley crossover win over Clinton.


The Blue Devils rolled up 472 yards on the ground as they improved to 2-4 in the Rock Valley North and evened their season record at 4-4.


Clinton (1-7, 1-5) scored first on Aaron Roth’s 6-yard touchdown pass to Jaylen McMartin, and the Cougars trailed 15-14 in the second quarter. Evansville broke away to a 36-14 halftime lead.

n Jefferson 56, Parkview 13—Jefferson used an impressive running game to clinch the Rock Valley North championship.


The Eagles hammered host Orfordville Parkview with 485 yards rushing as they boosted their season record to 8-0. Jefferson, No. 6 in the AP Medium Division state ratings, moved two games ahead of East Troy at 6-0 in the conference with just one week remaining.


Parkview dropped 2-4 and 3-5.


Nate Keller scored on a 63-yard run on the game’s first play to get Jefferson rolling to a 35-0 first-quarter lead. Keller gained 131 yards on six carries, including additonal TD runs of 16 and 32 yards. Teammate Zeke Emerick gained 141 yards on five carries, including 80- and 12-yard touchdown runs.


Jefferson held Parkview to 60 yards rushing and 163 yards passing. Trevor Aasen completed 11 of 30 passes, including 46- and 24-yard TD passes to Jamison Lavrey.

The Cardinals (6-2, 5-1) scored at least one touchdown in every quarter. Jaron Harding scored Brodhead/Juda’s first three touchdowns on runs covering 1, 5 and 8 yards to give the visitors a 21-0 halftime lead.


Trenton Jordan returned the second-half kickoff 85 yards to give the Cardinals a 28-0 lead.


The Whippets (2-6, 2-4 were limited to 56 total yards—all rushing.
