Craig, Parker soccer fall
Ben Goodwin's hat trick lifted Beloit Memorial's boys soccer team past Janesville Craig on Thursday night.
The Purple Knights broke the game open with three goals in the second half en route to a 6-2 Big Eight Conference win.
Craig cut the deficit to 3-2 on Chino Chavez's unassisted goal at the 29-minute mark of the first half.
"It was a good game til late when things got away from us a little bit," Craig coach Charles Friedrich said. "We had a chance to tie the game late in the first half but missed a good opportunity.
"The second half, we failed to mark a couple of their key players, and that hurt us."
Craig plays a nonconference game at Milwaukee Pulaski on Saturday.
