Intoxicated driving arrests
-- GREG A. KRETSINGER, 35, of 5181 N. County F, Janesville, at 1:40 p.m. Saturday on County H at Plymouth Church Road in Plymouth Township on a charge of operating under the influence of a controlled substance and violating parole.
-- MICHAEL D. BROWN, 56, Joliet, Ill., at 8:28 a.m. Sunday on Highway 213 and Wright Street in Orfordville.
-- HIGHWAY 51 AT BLACK OAK DRIVE, Fulton Township. At 8:20 a.m. Saturday, Michael B. Johnson, 37, of 593 Albion Road, Edgerton, was backing a backhoe on Black Oak Drive toward Highway 51. Ronald J. Besemer, 60, of 707 Doty St., Edgerton, was driving south on Highway 51. He swerved right to avoid hitting a southbound car that was at a stop waiting for the backhoe. Besemer’s car struck the backhoe. A passenger, Norman C. Wise, 75, 707 Doty St., Edgerton, was transported to Edgerton Hospital. Johnson was cited for unsafe backing.
-- PARKER DRIVE 500 FEET NORTH OF BLACK BRIDGE ROAD, Janesville. At 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Hannah V.J. Meiklejohn of 408 Linn St., Janesville, was driving south on Parker Drive when she fell asleep and crossed the centerline. She struck a tree on the east side of the road. She was transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where she was treated and released.
-- ROBBERY of a Janesville woman reported at 12:54 p.m. Monday in the 2900 block of Woodlane Drive, Janesville. The woman said a man entered her bedroom, blinded her with pepper spray and took her purse.
-- RETAIL THEFT of more than $4,000 worth of electronics, including Wii equipment and DVD players, from Toys R Us, 2723 Milton Ave, Janesville, by an “unknown female.”
-- THEFT BY DECEPTION reported Sept. 28 from an east-side Janesville woman who said she sold a waterbed on the Internet only to find that the $2,980 check was bogus.
-- CAR THEFT reported in front of a residence in the 100 block of North Washington Street, Janesville, in the early morning hours of Sept. 28. The car was recovered at 1937 Alden Road after having been involved in a hit-and-run accident.
-- OPERATING A VEHICLE WITHOUT OWNER CONSENT reported at 10:10 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Cherry St., Janesville. A 2010 Pontiac G6 was reported taken.
-- BURGLARY Monday to Stateline Recycling, 322 S. Crosby Ave., Janesville. Nothing was reported stolen, but a window was reported broken.
-- BURGLARY to a storage unit in the basement of a building in the 300 block of East Memorial Drive, Janesville, reported Sept. 29. Two Dyno bicycles, valued at $400, were reported stolen.
-- BURGLARY to a residence in the 1100 block of Ravine Street, Janesville, reported at 6:53 p.m. Saturday. Taken were a video game system and two video games valued at $410.
-- ALFRED H. EMERSON, 39, Chicago, with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. Both charges were listed as Emerson’s second on such charges. He also was charged with obstructing. Janesville police on Saturday stopped Emerson for having a defective brake light. When he opened his glove box to get his insurance, a bag of marijuana fell out. Police also found 1.82 grams of crack cocaine.
-- ROSBEL G. VELEZ, 45, of 108 N. Main St., No. 1, Edgerton, with sixth offense operating while intoxicated. An Edgerton police officer arrested Velez at 4:33 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of West Fulton Street in Edgerton. A person called 911 after seeing Velez driving erratically in a truck that had heavy front-end damage and smoke coming from the engine.
